Stop Fur Farming in Europe
In just a few remaining countries across Europe, millions of animals such as mink, foxes, raccoon dogs and chinchillas are being bred and killed for their fur—a luxury product no one needs. Kept in tiny wire cages, these wild animals suffer systemic welfare problems. Beyond the immense animal suffering, fur farming also harms biodiversity, endangers public health and pollutes the environment—all for an industry already in decline and abandoned by most fashion brands.
The people of Europe have spoken clearly. The Fur Free Europe European Citizens’ Initiative called on the European Commission to end this cruel practice once and for all. Now, the Commission must decide whether to propose legislation to ban fur farming and fur sales or allow the suffering to continue.
This is a historic moment. The evidence is clear, the moral case undeniable and EU citizens overwhelmingly demand change.
